Bringing Back Old Favorites

Since I'm taking the month of August off from shopping I decided it was the perfect time to revisit some old favorites and dig around in my makeup drawer. Doing this has almost felt like a mini-refresh and it makes me excited to put on my makeup each morning - especially because I had forgotten how good this Maybelline mascara is!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (the original waterproof version) : I used this mascara a bunch last year right around this time and continuously through the fall. It's only downfall is how hard it is to get off, but alas the waterproof version keeps my lashes so curled. When my YSL mascara ran out the other week I decided that the perfect compromise during my no-spend would be to pick up a tube of drugstore mascara instead of splashing out on the high end stuff. Holy cow, I was re-blown away by this stuff the first morning I used it. I actually posted about it on my Instagram story that morning. (Side note, how do we feel about Insta stories? I can barely get things up on Snapchat let alone a second platform like it!) Anyways, this stuff is good. Like so good that I'll put up with the extra few minutes of cleansing to get it off at night. I've had multiple people ask me if I'm wearing lash extensions or have used Latisse.

YSL Lipstick in #1 : I picked this lipstick up last fall and wore it a ton throughout the cooler months. It pairs perfectly with a cat flick, a smoky eye, or just loads of mascara. It's a step away from the mauve-y, brown toned Kylie nudes I've been wearing religiously and it's refreshing for sure. It's super girly, but it's still neutral and works perfectly against my very black wardrobe as an ever so subtle pop. See below for a quick snap from last year on my Instagram of what it looks like on!

Do you routinely dig through your collection & pull out old favorites? I feel like I never do this enough and need to be better about it! Let me know some of your long-time loves in the comments below!
