At the end of 2015/beginning of 2016 I found myself in quite a rut. I was frustrated with a lot of things. I found myself rather unmotivated, feeling a lack of creativity, and sort of tired of all things social media. A few days into January I decided to take a break. I didn't pick up my camera, if I posted on Instagram it was photos I had stocked up on/saved from a while back, and I recharged my batteries. It took quite a bit of time - I tried to shoot photos here and there but was always dissatisfied (the lighting was bad, the photos didn't look right, etc); but eventually things fell back into place.
A few glorious weather days (where the lighting was just right), a change in perspective (moving items from my white board to my desk, etc), and a few stunning magazines really helped to spark some inspiration. I also spent countless hours on Tumblr, took a break from spending (which allowed me to really re-learn my makeup drawers/discover what I truly was loving), and binge watched a bit of Keeping Up With The Kardashians (something about that show just makes me want to put down the chocolate, get on the treadmill, and pull out all of my favorite makeup). This combination of small things got me back into the swing of things with blogging (and life in general). I've also felt the love of this community lately - you all who read my blog are just so wonderful :) which is another thing that motivates me to create.
Anyways - rambling aside...the idea of this post is to open up a forum of sorts. I'd love for all of you to share with me how you recharge, find creative inspiration, and get out of a rut. Now, let's get chatting!
