December Beauty Favorites

I'm dubbing this the month of the nude liquid lipstick and high impact mascara. Along with some staple base products and a few Charlotte Tilbury splurges, it was the perfect way to round out the end of the year.

Charlotte Tilbury 'Wonder Glow' : This was one of those "oops Merry Christmas to me" purchases this month. With the new pop up counter at the Tyson's Nordstrom it's been super hard to resist grabbing a few more CT pieces. Wonder Glow is that perfect, luxurious addition to my makeup bag. It gives a luminous finish to any foundation and adds the perfect extra glow for minimal, low maintenance days. My preferred method is to mix this into my foundation to give it a boost, but it's also perfect to add on top for a bit of highlight.

Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick 'Bow & Arrow' & 'Lolita' : I've been searching for these KVD liquid lipsticks for a bit, and they all came into my possession at once. Bow & Arrow (a Lou Teasdale inspired purchase) is a lighter brown, nude that works as a great dupe for Kylie's impossible to get ahold of Dolce K. Lolita (KVD's infamous shade) has been out of stock for ages until a few weeks ago. My good friend Sarah gifted this one to me and it's the perfect deep nude. Listed as a 'chestnut rose' it provides a warm pop of neutral that carries a bit more impact than Bow & Arrow. The formula of these is incredible, super soft and very easy to layer. Next on my list (if it ever comes back in stock) is Lovesick!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick 'Pure Hollywood' : This lipstick has been on my list for ages (ever since I fist spotted it on Lottie Tomlinson) and when I finally snagged it, it didn't disappoint. This stuff is seriously long lasting and comfortable on the lips. It is a bit sticky right at first (unlike the KVD) but once it dries down you can't feel it at all. While it looks fairly light in the tube, like a lot of liquid lipsticks it dries down to a much darker nude with brown undertones.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution 'Glastonberry' : Nothing screams chic to me more than these little rose gold tubes of Charlotte Tilbury lipstick! Glastonberry is a gorgeous medium cool-toned berry shade with a velvety finish. The highlight feature of this product for me is definitely the shape of the bullet itself. It's angled tip means it is super easy to apply (especially without a liner).

YSL 'Shocking' Mascara : Last week I spent a whole blog post raving about this mascara (you can read that here). So without a doubt it had to go on my favorites post. When friends asked if I had lash extensions in (and then went and grabbed the mascara for themselves) I knew it was a good purchase. Jet black, with a wet formula, it gives major drama.

Charlotte Tilbury 'Full Fat Lashes' Mascara : Similar to the YSL (and also reviewed in the post above) this one gives drama, but is a bit less "wet" looking and gives a bit less of a spider lash feel. This formula is a bit drier, but still gives fluffy and volume filled lashes. (One thing to note, it did not do as well on my bottom lashes!)

MUFE Ulta HD Foundation*: This has been the perfect formula for this point in the year. With celebrations, family gatherings, and photos being taken this was the best option for natural looking finish that lasted. Since it's formulated specifically for photo/video and lacks SPF it looks great in photographs. The finish is a nice mixture - not too dewy and not too matte so it gives a very skin-like appearance.

Charlotte Tilbury Color Chameleon 'Amber Haze' : This has been such a perfect addition to my eye routine since it's a deep shade, but not black. It works perfectly as liner (with a hint of shimmer) and as an all-over eye color.
