As we all know, this week is basically the beauty equivalent to Christmas. With VIB Rouge last weekend and the regular VIB sale going on this weekend it's the perfect time to stock up on essentials and fun splurges. I shopped the sale last weekend, so I wanted to round up the items that I got to share with you all if you are thinking about snagging anything later this week!
Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette : This one has been on my list for quite a bit, but I wasn't sure if it was worth the splurge until I saw Jaclyn Hill's latest video. After seeing her full foundation routine and listen to her talk about the palette I knew it was needed in my collection. So far I've been using the two lightest shades (the yellow toned highlights) for under my eyes and the left and middle contour shades. All six shades are matte (something that is nice since so many of my products have shimmer), are finely milled, very pigmented, and super buttery. The product gives a beautiful finish, doesn't crease or cake, and blends like a dream. It's one hundred percent worth the money!
Sephora Contour Brush #79 : While I love my NARS Yachiyo brush (especially for contour and blush), I wanted something separate that would be good for under the eye area specifically. This brush is the perfect fit - it is tapered, a medium size, a fluffy enough to blend powder perfectly. After testing this brush for a few days I can definitely say I want to try out more Sephora brand brushes!
Cover FX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation : Another Jaclyn influenced purchase. Since most of my bases are light, CC/BB creams I wanted something with a bit more coverage and a little less of a dewy finish. While this foundation is still dewy, it's not quite as dewy as a CC Cream or BB Cream. I have been prepping this with a combo of the Clarins Instant Flash Beauty Balm and the MUFE Smoothing Primer. The formula/finish is super natural, very skin like, and easy to blend.
Make Up Forever Step 1 Smoothing Primer : A super smooth primer that helps to fill in poles/lines and create a flawless base. It does a great job of creating a smooth base for foundation to be applied to. This is a silicon based product, just and FYI for those of you who can't do silicons!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion : This was a last minute grab right before I paid and I'm so glad I got this. I had been feeling frustrated with my eyeshadow application recently and wanted something to help intensify pigment and keep things from creasing. I'm super pleased with this product - the formula keeps shadows in place all day and really brings out the pigmentation in each color. The primer itself has a neutral shade to it which is nice and helps to conceal darkness/viens. The application is a wand and super easy to apply.
Now let me know...have you shopped the VIB sale already or are you planning to grab things this weekend? If so, what have you snagged/what is on your list?
VIB Sale starts this Friday November 13th and goes through the 16th!
