The Vampy Lipstick How To

Every Fall I get beyond excited to pull out my darkest lip shades to start transforming my makeup routine. Berry shades, oxbloods, and everything in between - I can't get enough. Normally I stick to the three looks called out above (letting the lip be the biggest focus) but this year I'm also planning to branch out and try some coppery/golden shades on the eyes to really go for that full on Fall look. Shades like these can be intimidating at first. I know I was totally shocked the first time an artist at MAC put 'Diva' on me. I felt like I was looking at someone else's reflection, but over time they get easier to wear. Rebel is a great introduction shade, it's not too dark, it's flattering on a lot of skin tones, and isn't matte so it's a bit easier to work with. Another option for someone easing into darker lip shades is to pat the color on with your finger instead of applying straight from the bullet. This will give a gorgeous stain-like finish that isn't as fully pigmented.

Above are a few of my favorites and the ones I get the most compliments when wearing - but since I'm always looking to add more to my collection do share your favorites in the comments below!
