I honestly think monthly favorites post are my favorite to do. I find making my list and really zeroing in on the products that stood out so much fun. This month had a lot of winning products that are serious staples in my stash now!
Sachajuan 'Hair Repair' : Sachajuan has been a brand that I have followed for quite a bit and always been drawn to, but never had the chance to snag. Back when I was in Richmond the other week I stumbled upon a select of Sachajuan products at Need and was thrilled. I opted for the Hair Repair after reading so many glowing reviews (especially Suzie's from Hello October) and couldn't be happier. This stuff makes my hair seriously silky, like hair commercial silky. I truly look forward to the one night each week I set aside to do use this. This product is nourishing and leaves behind fantastic results.
MAC Extended Play Lash Mascara : I picked this up on a whim after seeing Tanya Burr talk about it in a YouTube video and have been so pleased with it. I got it specifically for use on my bottom lashes, which are ridiculously long and tend to just create a big mess under my eyes. The brush is longer than the Clinique bottom lash, but just as precise and the comb works well for me. The formula is jet black and wetter than the Clinique - which I prefer - and has really great staying power! It doesn't transfer and budge throughout the day.
L'Oreal Miss Manga Rock Mascara : Another mascara love, this time for my top lashes. This stuff is seriously good! It gives a wet, jet black, super thick finish. It also holds a curl and can be built up really well. You can read more thoughts on this mascara in this post where I compared it to the Maybelline Colossal Chaotic Lash.
Sunday Riley Artemis Oil* : This.stuff. I didn't think I could covet a skincare product this much. I reviewed a first impression of this product at the beginning of the month and the immediate results had me so excited to keep using this one. As time has progressed I'm still just as much in love with it. The smell isn't quite as strong to me anymore either. As I mentioned yesterday my current routine is to double cleanse at night and then add this oil. I do a single cleanse in the morning and then use a more daytime friendly serum. Since Artemis does have a distinct smell and is thicker, I prefer to use it at night. It has done such a great job at balancing my skin-tone and reducing redness. Definitely one that will be sticking around for a while.
OPI 'Do You Take Lei Away' : Give me all the neutrals this month! I have been on such a neutral nail kick - I'm loving beiges and creamy nudes. They feel super weather appropriate and work with everything. This color is a great sandy nude that isn't too pink or too grey.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner 'Trooper' : I had mixed feelings regarding this product when I reviewed it last and my thoughts have now completely turned around. With time the product became less streaky and the finish more of an ink black. It's staying power has also improved (this could simply be because the temperatures have finally cooled a bit). It has definitely worked it's way up there to the top of my eyeliner love list - which currently goes... budget friendly: Maybelline Line Stiletto, mid-range: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, splurge: Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush 'Exposed' : The blush I feel every makeup bag needs. It's such a great neutral that works beautifully on so many skin types. This is one that just goes with so many looks and enhances the skin so nicely. The formula is really pretty too and never looks super powdery when applied. For me personally I like to apply this totally alone without bronzer and it's my favorite look!
MAKE Colour Matte/Dewy Duo* : I love the concept of this little palette. One side is a matte-fying formula while the other is a hydrating/highlighting formula. The matte side can be applied to areas where you want to keep oil down and minimize pores while the dewy side can be applied to areas you want to create a super natural looking glow. The formula allows for this product to be applied over makeup and as much as you want without it becoming cakey. I primarily use the dewy side and think it gives the most perfect summer, fresh skin highlight. I love using it on the tops of my cheekbones when I'm doing natural, easy makeup!
