Spring Essentials With Style Bee

Hello fabulous folks! My name is Lee and I write the life and style blog Style Bee. Faith and I have been conspiring to swap guest posts for a while now and after many months of brutal winter weather it seemed like the perfect time to talk about spring.

I’m based in Guelph, Ontario and the desperation for spring weather is palpable right now. We’re all clinging to the hope of a warm March to melt the mountainous snow piles and breathe life back into the world around us.

Personally I’m most excited about the infinite wardrobe options that higher temps allow!
It was no easy feat to whittle my list of spring essentials down to just 6 but after much deliberation it came down to the pieces I can’t wait to wear most. So here goes!

1. Denim Vest
I won’t lie, I’ve already been sneaking this guy into my outfits under coats and scarves. Denim vests are just a classic closet staple that always add that casual cool vibe to a look and never seem to go out of style. I love throwing one over a t-shirt dress or an all black look for a rock ‘n’ roll feel. Mine is an older one from J.Crew but these options are great too – J.Crew // Madewell

2. Stripes
Not sure what it is about spring but I always find my addiction to stripes flares up at this time of year. I just can’t get enough! Good thing they’re out in abundance these days. I’ve had great success with this super reasonable option but I’ve got my eye on a few great ones from J.Crew // Need Supply // Sundry

3. White Denim
Great white jeans are the perfect way to inject some freshness into your spring look. Ditch the dark washes for a bit and pull on a great pair of white denim. I love the skinny skinny high riser from Madewell but these classics from JBrand do the trick too.

4. Bucket Bag
I’m not usually one to covet trends but I’m so glad I caved to the bucket bag craze last summer. The trend is still going as strong as ever and they just happen to be as versatile as they are practical. I love my black leather one from Baggu (which they’ve since updated slightly), this contemporary take by Erin Templeton is so chic and this sculptural two-tone option from Monserat De Lucca is a dream!

5. Black Pump
6 months spent in wool socks and snow boots makes the prospect of stepping outside in a perfect pointy pump something magical to me. I’ve tried my fair share of black pumps but the latest favourites are these chic suede fellas from Madewell. They’re deceivingly comfortable and the cut is mod and super sexy.

6. Silky Scarf
I’m a creature of habit so after months of bundling up and not daring to bare a square inch of unnecessary skin to the angry elements I like to keep my scarves on standby. This silky one is particularly great for temperamental spring weather we get and I love mixing a classic print with stripes and denim. It’s an old gem but I have my eye on this one from J.Crew, this airy option from Need Supply and basically the entire Blockshop Textile collection.

While I could easily go on an on about all of these (and plenty others!) I should be signing off. I hope this has given you some style inspiration and that your spring season is just fabulous!
Thanks for having me! xo – Lee the Bee

  11. I love this collaboration ladies! Such a great look for spring! I might need to snag some great white pants after seeing how great they pair with a striped tee and patterned scarf. Which I own plenty of...What a great way to remix a classic tee!
