Three Unexpected Nail Colors For Winter

A few week's back I did a post on "non-red" holiday polish options that seemed to be really loved! Since winter can be grueling and a lot of us gravitate towards dark polishes this time of year I thought it would be fun to throw out a few unexpected colors you can rock during the cold months.

Essie, 'Urban Jungle': Jordan posted about this Essie favorite the other week and reminded me just how much I love it! It was such a fresh and welcome manicure after all of the super glittery and festive nails I had been wearing over the holidays. It felt like such an appropriate start to the new year to be wearing such a stripped back color.

Essie, 'Lilacism': I owe the inspiration of this color choice to my lovely co-worker Dani. She brought up how much she was craving a manicure this color which encouraged me to pull out my bottle. Instead of the typical dark navy blues and blacks this time of year an icy blue/purple still feels wintery but fresh and different.

Essie, 'Blanc': Winter white - can I say anymore than that? Most people reserve white polishes for the thick of summer but I think that white can be just as much a winter staple as it is a summer one.

What polishes have you been wearing lately? Have you been sticking to dark vampy colors or branching into fresher light tones?

  1. I do love me an Urban Jungle mani! I will have to snag the Lilacism next time I hit up a nail polish aisle! Another favorite of mine is OPI Alpine Snow. It is a completely opaque white that I love sporting in the dead of winter, or the heat of summer. I am currently wearing Essie's Hi Maintenance, which is a slightly transparent blush. a great favorite for a neutral nail that has a hit of sweetness.

  4. I absolutely love these shades as well but two other favourites of mine for this time of the year are OPI Samoan Sand and Essie Absolutely Shore. Both are pale shades that make the skin look healthy and glowy. Definitely worth checking out! xx

  5. These are all so gorgeous! Light nail polishes are my favorites, so these will definitely be on my to buy list. I am currently loving Revlon Colorstay's Gel Envy in All or Nothing as it has a long-lasting formula and gives off a beautiful light pink color. Just found your blog from Natalie's (Thunderlove) "Blogs Worth Bookmarking" post, and I'm glad she referred me to you :) Followed! x
