As I mentioned a few week's ago this year was the very first time I was able to participate in the craziness of Black Friday. My brother, his girlfriend, and I went out and spent all night shopping till we literally dropped. Even thought it was so much fun, I began thinking that I wish I had been better prepared that night. Being out for a long time (and also being outside for a good chunk of it) made me wish I had packed my bag a bit better - especially since we ended up going for a late night McDonald's run to keep our energy up. Definitely not the best way to start the holidays!
Before I head out to finish my holiday shopping I decided to sit down and reassess my bag and add a few extra items that happened to be missing. Below is my list of absolutely necessary items + a few items added specifically for the holidays!
Lip Balm & Hand Cream - Living in the city has me running outside to get from store to store and lip balm and hand cream is so necessary when it is cold and windy!
Hair Tie - On Black Friday this was one of those items I majorly wished I had in my bag. After a while, my hair was driving me nuts and I really wished I could have thrown it up.
Cell Phone + Cute Case - Naturally I'm not going anywhere without my phone! This cute gold + white case is extra fun this time of year.
Watch c/o - When my hands are full it can be hard to grab my cell phone from the depths of my bag/pockets. A watch helps keep me on schedule and hands free.
Notebook + Cute Pencil - This time of year I have to be especially organized. When I'm Christmas shopping I'm constantly pulling out my list to make sure that no one's presents are missed!
Headphones - This one applies more due to the fact that I am in the city and use public transportation. Since it takes me a while to get to a lot of the shopping areas headphones are such a lifesaver.
Smaller Clutch - I've recently added a smaller clutch inside of my bigger bag solely to hold all of my receipts. This way they are all in the same place and I don't lose any gift receipts!
Healthy Snack - Like I mentioned above when we shopping on Black Friday we ended up grabbing McDonald's which at the time tasted delicious, but was not the best choice overall. To combat the craving to hit up fast food restaurants while running around I've been keeping bars in my bag like the one in the photo.
If you take a look at the little pink label on the bar in the photo you'll notice that LUNA Bars are now Gluten free. While I myself don't have an allergy to Gluten, I do have a few friends that are severely allergic to it. Since I do spend a good deal of time with those friends, I've been more cautious when buying snacks lately. This is so that when that I am around one of those friends I able to offer them something to eat as well. The best part about the new LUNA Bars (aside from the delicious flavors like my chocolate cupcake above) is that they taste no different than the original bars which contained Gluten.
To keep all of my readers healthy (and gluten free) during the holidays LUNA is kindly offering a set of bars to one lucky reader. Below is the information on how to enter the competition! Be sure to first check out the LUNA Bar site and pick your favorite flavor!
