Another month has come to a close therefore we have another monthly favorites. This month was filled with lots of Autumnal berry shades and a few staple pieces.
NARS Satin Lip Pencil, 'Mandore': This lip pencil is a limited edition color from NARS's 'Night Caller' collection and it is the epitome of Fall/Autumn makeup. A true deep color it doesn't boast any pinkish undertones like many berry and wine colors do. It has a brown base and is truly flattering on. It makes my teeth appear whiter, glides on smoothly, doesn't settle into chapped lips, and for a satin has pretty good staying power.
Smashbox Photo Finish Light: Like I said in my primer focused post last week, this was a truly good find for me. It's non-silicone based formula works wonders with my skin, and helps to create a base that makeup does not slip off of. It is lightweight and also does not cause breakouts.
M•A•C Eyeshadow, 'Soba': This was a Hello October influenced purchase. After hearing her rave about the color a few times I decided to test it out. It is the perfect not too dark, not too light crease shade for every day wear but can be built up for a more dramatic look due to it's high pigmentation. It also blends beautifully. The color itself is a nice warm brown with no grey or red undertones. I typically apply it with my M•A•C 217.
Jo Malone, 'Peony & Blush Suede'*: Ever since receiving this perfume back in September I haven't worn any other fragrance. It is floral and light, but the subtle hints of suede help to make the scent cooler weather appropriate as well. I haven't gotten so many compliments on a fragrance in ages.
Essie, 'Bahama Mama': While the name suggest Summer time, this is definitely a favorite cool weather shade of mine. It is a little funkier than your average "almost black" fall manicures and the hints of cool toned purples make this one stand out for me.
By Terry Ombré Blackstar, 'Misty Rock': If you want a long lasting eyeshadow and something with a bit of a punch the Ombré Blackstar in Misty Rock is for you. The color is a gorgeous pinky-taupe and packs some serious shimmer. I tend to wear it all over the lid just on its own with some liquid black liner. This stuff also has some serious staying power. While a bit pricey it is worth every penny.
Tom Ford Hydrating Lip Shine, 'Nubile': Another pricier purchase but absolutely worth it (so much so I dedicated an entire post to it a few weeks back). It is the perfect "my lips but better" shade for me and is super hydrating. The color is deeper (much more Kylie than Kim in that aspect) and is perfect for Fall.
Tell me in the comments below everything you've been loving the month of October!
