So when I say "just landed" I mean these seriously just landed into my makeup bins - like two days ago. Since I have only had about a day or so to use these bad boys I thought it might be nice to do a "first impressions" post. This little drugstore haul came about during Saturday's grossly wet weather, when instead of shooting blog posts Ashlyn and I decided to run errands. [By errands I mean go to Ulta, CVS, and Target to scout beauty products and find some of the September Issues.] Some of these items were on my list of things to grab and others are now in my makeup bag because Ashlyn is a bad influence ;) just kidding, love you Ashlyn.
Milani Baked Bronzer Glow 04 : I've been meaning to snag Milani products for a while now and their baked bronzers and blushes are almost always out of stock so when we stumbled upon them I knew they were coming home with me. This stuff is seriously pigmented. The other day when I loaded up my brush with bronzer I was totally taken aback with how much color was on it. A little definitely goes a long way. I don't have any "baked" powders so this was a nice one to add to my collection.
Milani Baked Blush, Luminoso 05 : So far I'm very pleased with this one (and Milani products in general). The color is unlike most of my other blushes - which are pretty dramatic pinks and corals - so it is nice to have a little more of a neutral shade in my bag. Like the bronzer it has a whole lotta pigment.
L'Oreal Visible Lift Blur Concealer : This one. Oh my gosh everyone needs to go out and buy this stuff immediately. Ashlyn has been talking about this stuff for a few weeks now and I just gave into buying it after seeing THIS post she did and having her physically place it in my hands on Saturday. I kept thinking...I don't need another concealer. Yes, I absolutely needed this concealer. "Airbrush finish" is the only way I know how to describe this. Ashlyn can vouch for me, I stared at my face post-application for a solid twenty minutes. It's that good. The plus side, it only gets better the longer it absorbs into your skin.
L'Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur : This is one I'm a little iffy about. I've been meaning to get my hands on it for a bit now and thought in combination with the concealer this would be a pretty deadly combo. A little goes a long way with the application of this stuff and I'm thinking I applied a little too much on my first try. The texture is super nice and makes my skin feel incredibly smooth. However, I felt as though my makeup slipped all around when I was applying it. I was seriously afraid that it was going to slide all off in a matter of a few minutes. Once I set my foundation and concealer, and let things sit for a few minutes the feeling did go away. I think this one is going to take a little practice. I'll be reporting back.
Have you snagged any must have items lately or seen any good new releases?
