#SJP

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I spent mine reuniting with good friends over great food in New York. The weather was surprisingly tame and a little warmer than expected [and it didn't rain!] It always rains when I'm in New York. Besides eating I had a fantastic time wandering around the city exploring & meeting Sarah Jessica Parker!!! We went to her pop-up shop opening in SoHo and had a life changing moment post shoe shopping. We hung around [thank you to my amazing girl friends who stood in the cold with me - because they are just as Sex & the City obsessed] and claimed a front row spot to try and catch a photo of her when she left the shop. Inside the store itself you weren't allowed photos of her or autographs unless you purchased a pair of shoes. [And as much as I wanted those patent leather Mary-Jane's or the Carrie's it just wasn't happening this trip.] My friend Stacy brought along her collection of Sex & the City DVD's and we happened to have a sharpie on us so we decided we would attempt what most likely wouldn't happen...to get an autograph from her. As you can see from the photo, miracles do happen. Upon exiting we were the first people she saw and she came right over to us when we called her name. She chatted for a moment [apologizing she couldn't stay longer and had to head home], signed our collection, and graciously allowed me to snap photos of it all. It was surreal, I actually don't think I spoke more than sputtering out a thank you to her. After us she made her way to her car, not stopping anymore. We were seriously the luckiest people on the planet & the only ones who were able to interact with her that way. She was absolutely the sweetest person ever and just as fabulous as you'd imagine. We all had a little freak out once she drove off and I think I'm still a little star struck.

Have any of you ever met someone that you were a huge fan of? If so, what was your experience like?

  2. That's so awesome Faith! I met Brad Goreski during a book signing and he was awesome. I also once ran into Renee Zellweger when I was living in Baltimore. She was filming a movie there (with no other than Mr Big as a matter a fact). After the gym, I went to check out a new shoe store that had just opened right across and as I reached for the door, a tiny woman did the same but I beat her to open the door. For some reason, she freaked out a little and left. I thought "that's odd, she looks familiar, oh well, more shoes for me". As I entered the store the sales ladies were like "OMG, that was Renee Zellweger!, I think you just scared her off". Oops, so I apparently look very threatening and scary to Renee which is odd because we are about the same size though she's a little shorter.

    1. That is so cool Rosa! I love Brad!! Isn't that funny how we see celebrities in real life and think hmm they look familiar...and then realize who they are?

ps : I can't imagine you being threatening to anyone ;)
